The Shanghai Grand Prix Circuit

China's new super facility completed at a cost of over $US240 million is situated in the eastern city of Shanghai.

The 5.451 Kilometre track designed by Germany's Hermann Tilke, is shaped like the Chinese Character "Shang" with the meaning "Speeding with Shanghai". The facility built to host future Formula One events includes a stadium with a fixed seating capacity of 200,000 fans.

Agreement has been reached and a contract signed to allow V8 Supercars to contest rounds at the new facility for the next five years.
