In 1999 the Sensational Adelaide 500 was just that, SENSATIONAL - Experts said it was going to be tough they lied the first Adelaide 500 was pure torture machinery pushed beyond braking point, drivers pushed to physical exhaustion - a high speed canyon of concrete that showed no mercy to those who succumbed to its relentless pressure, and following years have been no different.
The Clipsal 500 will be held on some of the old F1 Grand Prix Street circuit. Consisting of two 250 Km "legs" held over Saturday and Sunday. The race is the first endurance event of the V8 Supercar Series.
Both 250 "legs" count for Championship points, with the overall winner being Sunday's victor.
Fifteen turns; including two hairpins; the Senna Chicane and 90 degree corners. Three straights will give the V8's plenty of opportunity for overtaking...
