| Title: | Good Old Aussie Ute |
| Author: | Larry O’Toole |
| Publisher: | Graffiti Publications Pty. Ltd. |
| Format: | Soft Cover Book |
| Review: | This comprehensive volume traces the history of the “Utility Vehicle” from its earliest days as a Roadster to today’s popular Coupe ute. Mr O’Toole covers not only the more well known makes but also long past names as Hudson, Graham, Exide and the Hillman / Commer range. Though illustrated only in black and white, the images included are numerous and of high enough quality to assist anyone restoring an older vehicle. A total of 255 pages not only cover many of the recognized manufactures wares but a few Custom Conversions (early and modern), and the popular “Mongrel Ute”. On the lighter side, the author tells (with images) of his sometimes hair raising activities with utes during his young days on the family farm in Victoria. Not just another Ute book, this fine volume is a must for anyone interested in Australian motoring history. |
