Surf's Up for Team Betta Electrical

Press Release
The surf may have been missing, but Team Betta Electrical's Craig Lowndes, certainly blitzed the Indy track, winning both 100km V8 Supercar races at the Lexmark Indy 300 today and edging himself only 81 points away from the Championship leader.
Lowndes lead from start to finish in both races and was never challenged, his driving skills were matched by sensational crew work during all stops.
Team mate Steve Ellery also had a strong, consistent round, finishing 8th in Race 2 and 7th in Race 3 to give him 7th overall for the weekend. This now positions Steve in 16th place on the Championship table.
A jubilant Lowndes credited his Triple Eight Race Engineering team for a great result that now sees the four-time 2005 round winner a major contender for the championship title.
"If we keep doing what we are doing, we remain a good chance of making it to the top of the table" Lowndes said.
"All credit must go to the Team, one for repairing the car so well and two for outstanding pitstops that are really setting the benchmark.
"We have two rounds remaining with 384 points up for grabs so there is no margin for error now, we must be consistent.
"It also great to break the Surfers hoodoo and finally get a new surfboard!"
Team Principal Roland Dane said he was very proud of his Brisbane based team who never faltered during the weekend.
"It was a very comprehensive result today," Dane said. "Great teamwork, short pitstops and consistent driving from both drivers all sums up to Team maturity that I am very pleased with.
"We are now well placed to challenge for the Championship title"
The penultimate round of the 2005 V8 Supercar Championship will be held at Symmons Plains, Tasmania November 11-13.
