Sight & Sound Car pushes the pace at Surfers Paradise

Press Release
WOW Sight & Sound Car #45 finished in 14th place in Round 11 of the 2005 V8 Supercar Series at Surfers Paradise over the weekend.
Driver Max Wilson got off to a clean start in the final race with an excellent run through the field in the early stages of race three making up 12 placing’s after starting in 26th position.
“Race three offered me a greater chance to move through the field, making up considerable placing’s in the early stages, coming home in 14th spot,” Wilson said.
“It would have been nice to have made the top ten in each race this weekend, but that wasn’t to be.”
Wow Racing’s Car #45 experienced a set back in race one and two following a faulty wheel nut during a tyre change which lost Wilson valuable time.
“I was disappointed with our tyre change problem in both races one and two and that put us right back in the field and I certainly had my work cut out to try and advance on the field, which is very difficult to achieve on a circuit such as this,” Wilson said.
But Wilson went all out in the 140 kilometre race pushing his #45 Holden Commodore through the field despite the sweltering temperatures.
“I had a slight problem of over heating of the car in race two, however that was soon rectified and on the whole, the car performed extremely well for such a tight and demanding circuit.”
In Friday’s second practise session Wilson posted the fastest time of 2:20.4236 in the shortened session due to heavy rain.
The Wow Team will now prepare for the next round of the V8 Supercar Championship which will be held at Symmons Plains, Tasmania on November 11th-13th, 2005.
“We are drawing to the close of the season now with only two rounds of the championship left to run, that of Tasmania and Phillip Island which amounts to six more races and I feel confident we can perform better at each of these two circuits,” Wilson said.
