By the time Garth Tander (Born March 31st 1977) was 8 years old, go karts were his thing, and since then he has won 7 state and one national titles in them.
In 1997 Garth competed in the National Formula Championship, and won it!
His efforts did not go unnoticed by Valvoline Cummins Race Team owner Garry Rogers. However despite his obvious talent Garth found himself out of a drive for 1998. So as to keep in contact with the sport he loves, Garth was prepared to work in the pit crew. When as some times happens a phone call changed things unexpectedly. Garry Rogers asked him to try out in one of the teams 600 horsepower V8 Supercars.
Having experienced a lean couple of seasons, Tander is eager to display the form that earned him the reputation of one of the sport's bright new stars.
