Steven Richards

Steven Richards (Born July 11th 1972) son of the famous Jim Richards was always destined to become a racing car driver. He used his father's advice rather than influence to forge his own path to success.

Steven advanced from karting at a local Melbourne track, through Formula Ford and Super Tourers all the way to the winner's podium at Bathurst - winning the V8 Supercar classic back-to-back in 1998/99.

In 2002 his many achievements and fine driving skills earned him a position with The Castrol Perkins Racing team to contest the V8 Supercar Championship Series.

He Joined with touring car legend Peter Brock, in a two-car Holden Monaro team to take part in the 2002 Targa Tasmania, the event presented Richards with yet another opportunity to add to his already impressive resume.

- Second place Bathurst 24 Hour
- 4th place Bathurst 1000 with Larry Perkins

- Third place at Winton and Barbagallo rounds

2002

- Sixth place V8 Supercar Championship
- First place Bathurst 24 Hour
- Second place Queensland 500 with Russell Ingall
- Second place Bathurst 1000 Classic with Russell Ingall

2000

- First place Canberra 400
- First in class Bathurst 3 Hour

1999

- First place Bathurst 1000 Classic with Greg Murphy

1998

- First place Bathurst 1000 Classic with Jason Bright
- Second place Bathurst 1000 (Super Touring)

1997

- Second place Bathurst 1000 Classic

1996

- First place ATCC Privateers Cup
- 5th Australian Super Touring Championship
