Cameron McConville

by Phillip Whelan

Cameron McConville born in Melbourne January 22, 1974 , had an early start (at the tender age of seven) to his motor racing career. Since these early years Cameron gained a wealth of experience successfully competing in all recognised categories of motor racing in Australia.

Driver training has also been a major part of Cameron's life, and he became a fully qualified advanced driving instructor from the age of 18. Cameron now successfully blends his motor racing career with his driver training interests.

Cameron finds time to write for a number of leading Auto Magazines, and in the past has been co-commentator for Channel Seven's telecasts of Driver Training Programmes, he has also assisted Greg Rust and Mark Oastler with Network Ten's Trackside Programme.

After some years of successful enduro drives with Johnson, Larkham , Faulkner and the Holden Racing Team, Cameron gained a full time drive with the small but highly professional Lansvale Racing Team. After solid performances with the Lansvale team, Mc Conville signed a contract with the Garry Rogers Motorsport operations, where he won his first V8 Supercar round.
