Brad Jones started racing motocross bikes at the age of 14, before moving into Formula Ford (1980) and the beginning of a highly successful career on four wheels. He began driving touring cars in 1986.
In 1989 he joined Mobil Racing to drive a Sierra alongside Peter Brock. That same year he began racing in AUSCAR and took the first of his five titles in that category.
In the years since he has notched up a string of other victories, scoring nine national motor racing titles including two Super Touring Championships, one in NASCAR, the AUSCAR crowns and one Australian Production Car Championship.
He's also competed in a number of international races in countries including Japan, Macau and Belgium, and has driven for many manufacturers including Ford, Holden, Lotus, VW, Mercedes and Mitsubishi.
Jones drove for HRT in the early Nineties, with his best results a third at Bathurst (1993) and a second place in 1994. Subsequently he's taken a second at Bathurst in 1997 and a fourth in 1998.
In between, he had joined Audi in the Super Touring category and won the championship in 1996 and 1998. In 1999, he was third.
In 2000, with brother and team manager Kim, he launched his own team, the OzEmail Racing V8 Supercar team.
The real highlight came at Bathurst in 2001, when along with Scotland's John Cleland they claimed second behind the HRT duo of Mark Skaife and Tony Longhurst.
When he's not racing, Brad has been involved in the media as an expert motor sport commentator.
