Jason Bright

by Press Release

Jason Bright started his motor sport career in karts in the Gippsland region where he was born, before commencing his circuit-racing career in Formula Ford in the early 90's.

He took that title in 1995 then stepped up to Formula Holden in 1996 as well as competing in the US Formula Ford 2000 series, finishing second in both Championships. Concentrating on the premier open wheeler category in Australia in 1997, Jason won the Formula Holden title as well as having his first taste of V8 Supercars. The next two years saw Bright full time in the V8's with the Stone Brothers Ford Team, with the highlight being victory at Bathurst in 1998 with Steven Richards.

From there he decided to have one more attempt to crack the US Indy Car circuit, spending the 2000 season in Indy Lights for sixth place, capped off by a drive in an Indy Car at the Gold Coast event, where he ran as high as fifth place before retiring after being caught up in an on-track incident.

When the offer to join the Holden Racing Team was put to him at the end of 2000, Bright quickly accepted and now is making his mark on Australia's premier motor sport category.
